“I Wish” Description: Strange Fruit Vintage and Brooklyn-based indie artist Denitia (from denitia & sene) teamed up to create this thought-provoking videopiece showcasing the intersections of fashion and music within modern interpretations of vintage song and style set in the socio-cultural context of today’s world. Denitia offers up a soulful, minimal interpretation of “I Wish I Knew How it Would Feel to Be Free” originally made famous by the legendary Nina Simone, as a score to this non-traditional runway piece.”I Wish” is an exploration of the past and cyclical themes of culture as they historically exist and as they appear now.
