Album Review: Cypress Hill - Rise Up

«With this mic in my hand I will stay true to my fans / But with this gun in my hand I will stay true to the streets» («Light It Up») A phrase that perfectly describes this group, which has left a great history behind him and a world all these years of loving. From «Insane in the Brain» has been many years, different phases, and if nothing else, after a very strange «Till Death Do Us Part», want to return to the dynamic «Rise Up».

Already the first video that aired one understands that the Rockies have enough CD. Not all successful, in that I did not have the required rock feeling, except the «Shut Em Down» and «Trouble Seeker». There, Tom Morello (formerly of Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave) and Daron Malakian (formerly of System Of A Down) provide power to the compositions, with the latter to do after some time a dynamic production. The problem is that a general picture of the beats do not blowing and I can not say that dazzled by the music I heard. It has some remarkable moments and kaloutsikes («I Unlimited», «Take My Pain») but as a whole moves slightly in mediocrity and that sounds sometimes confusing. This is distinguished further by the highlight of the album, the «Carry Me Away», that makes you say, "Oh, finally has a real masterpiece of the album," but is the only one. The only one who displays excellence in structure, so the lyrics and production, but simultaneously creates the impression that there is a two-plane higher than anything else in «Rise Up».

The collaboration of Mike Shinoda worked perfectly, since the vocals were excellent. Apart from this involvement and one - two rock surprises, I do not believe that colored the rest of the album tremendously. Pretty much, Cypress Hill at the center of the project, without making a tremendous sensation. Well rhymes, meaningful, but unfortunately a few new things. Periodically repeat the style we're used to, but how many will cry a thousand times prefer the good old themes, despite the insipid new tracks ». Partially agree, but does not change the fact that I expected something more from the "old caravan" in rap - presentation. The great weakness in several creations, however, is the chorus. While they may seem meaningless to some, I saw that hooks were quite moderate («It Ain't Nothin») or were intended to arouse, but did not succeed («Light It Up»). One small problem, which was repeated a few cuts and without realizing it prevented the development of the piece.

During this review I had read an opinion in one forum, a visitor who said: "We will keep some pieces for years." If you do not agree with the opinion is on tracks, we are in the word "some." There is an awesome piece and four to five that will resounding in the future, but there. The «Rise Up» as a whole is weak and this has resulted in me not to raise the interest of many hearings from beginning to end. The Cypress Hill came back with a mediocre album, but offers some good moments, making a sound disc worthwhile for the average audiophile.
